Harvested in the late hours of the night into the early hours of the morning, the Rubber Tapper inserts a small wooden spike into the trunk of the Hevea or rubber tree, allowing natural latex to drip out of the trunk into a small bucket. This process is passive, causing minimal to no damage to the tree dating back to the 1900s.
